After returning to Earth on October 11, 1980, Popov and Ryumin set a new record of the duration of the space flight 184 d 20 h 11 m 35 s (4435 h 11 m 35 s). They surpassed the record of the expedition 3 of Salyut 6. Valeriy Ryumin also became the owner of the largest cumulative time in space: 361 d 21 h 31 m 57 s (8685 h 31 m 57 s).
